Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital: Guy Pilon to meet Christian Dubé
Quebec Minister of Health and Social Services Christian Dubé will meet with Vaudreuil-Dorion Mayor Guy Pilon this Friday. The meeting will focus on the development of the parking lot for the future Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital.
Mr. Pilon made the announcement at Monday's municipal council meeting, in response to a representative of the Mères au front Vaudreuil-Soulanges group, who had come to thank the mayor for his support of the petition launched by the group, and to ask for a follow-up on the issue.
"I don't know if it will change anything. He's not the one holding the purse strings. But what we have been told is that Minister Dubé could have a big influence on the final decision. We'd certainly be delighted to tell you that what we've done has paid off," said the mayor.
On November 21, Guy Pilon went to the National Assembly to take part in a media event related to the submission of the petition initiated by the Mères au Front organization and sponsored by the MNA for Vaudreuil.
He was accompanied by Marie-Claude Nichols, independent Member of Parliament for Vaudreuil, and Mathieu Miljours, General Manager of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"On behalf of the people of Vaudreuil-Soulanges, I call on the government to keep its word on the parking lot for the future Vaudreuil-Soulanges hospital... It is not only a question of public health, but also of demonstrating the same environmental consistency as the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion and the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM). It's time for the boots to follow the shoes," said Mr. Pilon at the time.
At the time of writing, the Minister's office had not yet confirmed whether the meeting would be open to the media.
