The Town of Hudson, rich in history and culture, announces the launch of a project to modernize its visual identity. Over the coming months, Hudson will update its visual identity, with a refreshed logo that embodies the town's values and distinctive character.

Why a new corporate identity?

The Town currently uses several brand images as well as a traditional coat of arms. This complicates its visual identity. The aim is to establish a unified, recognizable and authentic brand, in line with Hudson's values.

This modernization aims to improve Hudson's visibility and consistency:

- Modernize Hudson's logo and visual identity;

- Establish clear graphic standards;

- Develop a comprehensive brand guide.

Once finalized, the new logo will be progressively integrated on various City platforms and communication tools.

The City will update logos as needed. Signage, vehicles, equipment and stationery will gradually adopt the new design, either during regular replacements or as new elements are acquired.

Process highlights :

- Phase 1: November 5 to 22, 2024: Call for entries:
Hudson-resident graphic designers are invited to submit portfolios. Experience in brand image design, while not required, is an asset. Applications can be sent to [email protected]. Submission deadline: 4 p.m., Friday, November 22.

- Phase 2: December 1, 2024 - January 17, 2025: Competition

- Three local graphic designers and three design agencies will be invited to participate in a paid competition to propose a draft logo.

- An amount of $1,000 per proposal will be offered.

- Agencies will have 20 minutes to present their designs to the selection committee.

- One proposal will be selected from among those received.

- The selected agency will then be invited to submit a proposal for the next phase.

- Phase 3: February - April 2025: Logo design and public vote

- The selected agency will develop two brand images to present to the Board.

- Once approved, both versions will be put to a public vote; the winning design will become the city's brand image.

Deliverables will include a graphic standards guide, moodboard, graphic formats, design templates, etc.
