Until November 22, citizens of Vaudreuil-Dorion are invited to vote for their favorite project as part of the 4th edition of the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion’s participatory budget.

A total of $65,000 has been set aside for the project with the highest number of votes.

In the general category, four projects were selected out of the fifteen submitted, while in the youth category, no applications were received.

The selected projects were reviewed by a coordinating committee composed of representatives from the Communications Department, Finance and Treasury Department, Recreation and Culture Department, Urban Planning Department, and Engineering and Environment Department.

The Projects

Cycling Education Park

Proposed by Annie Bouthillier, this project will offer children aged 2 to 12 the chance to develop their cycling skills and learn basic road safety. With scooters, bicycles, and helmets available for loan, the park will be accessible to all and promote an active lifestyle.

Participatory Community Orchard

The community orchard project aims to create a green space where citizens can grow and harvest fresh fruits, promoting biodiversity and strengthening social bonds within the community. The idea was proposed by Éric Jean.

Batting Cage – Cricket

The cricket community is growing in Vaudreuil-Dorion. A batting cage will allow cricket enthusiasts to improve their skills in a safe and enclosed environment. The project was proposed by Jaryal Pankaj.

Accessible All-Season Fishing Installation

Finally, proposed by Benoit Giguère, this project aims to improve accessibility for fishing by setting up sustainable installations that offer learning activities and equipment rentals.

To submit a vote, one must:

be a citizen of Vaudreuil-Dorion;
be 16 years of age or older;
complete the online form;
vote only once;
provide a valid email address and accurate information.
Additionally, each person residing at the same address may vote, as long as they use a separate email address. Duplicate votes will be discarded, and the City may void a vote that does not comply with the rules.

Citizens are encouraged to vote now by visiting the City’s website in the Information / Citizen Participation section.

The citizens’ favorite project will be announced on December 9, 2024, during the special 2024 budget session, which will be webcast on the CSUR la télé website. The information will also be shared on the City’s Facebook page and website.
