The globally renowned Swedish furniture retailer, IKEA, plans to establish a planning and ordering center in Vaudreuil-Dorion in the spring of 2025. Although the company has not specified the exact location, it is widely believed that the site could be the building initially intended for a Walmart warehouse in the Henry-Ford industrial park.

"Throughout 2024, IKEA has expanded its network of planning and ordering centers in Ontario and Quebec, offering personalized services where customers can meet with knowledgeable IKEA specialists to design complex furniture projects for kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Once the designs are finalized, items can be ordered for home delivery or picked up at a local collection point," the home decor and furniture giant noted in a statement.

By setting up in the region, IKEA "hopes to reach a greater number of Quebec residents and meet their needs for personalized home furnishing solutions closer to home."

If the project proceeds, the IKEA planning and ordering center in Vaudreuil-Dorion will open in the spring of 2025.
