Cégep Gérald-Godin will be holding its first Open House of the year this Sunday, November 3, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. This unifying event invites future college students and their parents to come and learn about the programs of study offered at Cégep Gérald-Godin, admission procedures and student life.

During the Open House, visitors will have the opportunity to discover an exceptional learning environment and tour the CEGEP facilities on their own or through a guided tour of their choice. The pre-university and technical programs will be accessible, allowing visitors to explore the various laboratories, home rooms and classrooms.

Information booths will be set up in various areas of the CEGEP, including the agora, where visitors can meet with teaching teams, teaching assistants, the guidance counsellor, a continuing education representative and members of the student integration service (SAIDE).

The student life department will present the multitude of activities on offer, both socio-cultural and sporting, as well as the student committees.Participants will also be able to meet the coaching staff of the sports teams. Information will also be available on the Alliance Sport-Études, a program that enables students to combine sports with their college studies.

The Cégep Foundation will also have an information booth on its mission, as well as on the entrance scholarships it awards each year to students who register in the fall.

Start of applications

Before submitting an application on the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) website, it is advisable to attend an open house to narrow down your choice of programs and institutions. Students wishing to start CEGEP in fall 2025 will have until March 1 to register for the first round. The online application system will open in mid-January 2025.

Perspective Québec scholarships

The Open House is also the perfect opportunity to learn more about Bourses Perspective Québec, a Quebec government program that encourages students to enroll in programs related to the engineering, information technology and essential public services sectors. At Cégep Gérald-Godin, 5 technical programs are eligible for Perspective Québec scholarships: Nursing, Childhood Education Techniques, Biopharmaceutical Technologies, Electrical Engineering Technology: Programmable Electronics and Computer Techniques. Eligible students will receive a $1,500 bursary at the end of each semester.

Registration for the Open House is not compulsory, but is recommended to avoid waiting in line. You can do so via the following link: https://www.cgodin.qc.ca/pourquoi-gg/la-difference-gerald-godin/portes-ouvertes/.
