Take the Altius Physio Challenge to benefit the Paul-Leboeuf Foundation
For the second consecutive year, the team at the Altius Physio physiotherapy clinic is inviting the public to take part in the Altius Physio Challenge in support of the Paul-Leboeuf Foundation.
Whether you're a seasoned runner, new to the world of running, or simply a walker, be among the 175 or so runners expected on October 19, starting at 9 a.m., at the Centre de la nature Quatre Saisons in Coteau-du-Lac.
“The idea for the Altius Physio Challenge came from the clinic's founder, Éric Boucher. Éric has many great challenges under his belt, including running from Montreal to Quebec City to raise money for cancer,” explains Charlène de Grosbois, clinical coordinator at Altius Physio.
Three trail courses are available to participants: 1, 4 and 10 kilometers.
“The 1 km route is perfect for children, who can of course be accompanied by their parents. Upon arrival, each participant will receive a microchipped bib that will enable Sportstats to time the runners in real time. Each participant will also receive a medal,” adds Ms. de Grosbois.
Running for young people
Like the first edition, the Défi Altius Physio 2024 aims to raise funds for the Paul-Leboeuf Foundation. Last year, $11,500 was donated to the organization. “We donate 100% of the funds to the Foundation, and hope to exceed last year's amount,” says the coordinator.
Based in Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, the Fondation is the philanthropic arm of the Centre Notre-Dame-de-Fatima, which each year welcomes hundreds of campers with special needs.
Founded over 30 years ago, the Fondation Paul-Leboeuf's mission is to support the Centre Notre-Dame-de-Fatima by ensuring the progress of adapted services and the sustainability of its facilities.
The father of five healthy children, Éric Boucher felt indebted to life. “When the idea of the Défi came up, it was obvious to us that the funds had to be donated to a cause, an organization in the region. The Paul-Leboeuf Foundation particularly appealed to us because of its mission. It offers wonderful services to children with special needs,” concludes Charlène de Grosbois.
