A first for the orchestra
Galileo raises $10,750 at “Giving Tuesday"
"Giving Tuesday" is a global movement that helps people and organizations transform their communities and the world. It was celebrated everywhere on December 3. This was the first year that Galileo, a symphony orchestra based in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, took part.
The event was a resounding success, according to the orchestra's General and Artistic Director, Daniel Constantineau. Personal donations from a dozen people, combined with a donation of $10,000 from a major anonymous donor, enabled the organization to raise $10,750.
Affiliated with the Zeffy platform, Galileo tried its luck for the first time by taking part in the International day of giving, a good way of overcoming the shortcomings of public funding, according to Mr. Constantineau.
Daniel Constantineau would like to thank the donors, whose names are carefully recorded on their website, with the exception of the major donor, who has chosen to remain anonymous.
By the way, it's never too late to donate and join the group of donors. Just click on the Partnerships link at the top of the page, after opening the Galileo website.
