New temporary closure of the Oka-Hudson crossing this Wednesday

After having closed last week due to the weather, the Hudson Ice Bridge will have to cease operations again this Wednesday, in the face of freezing rain and the expected thaw in the area.

To protect the ice surface, the Oka-Hudson Traverse administration announced its closure on Facebook earlier today. The mercury, which is expected to rise to 5 degrees Celsius, could compromise the safety of motorists venturing out. 

However, the ice bridge is set to reopen on Thursday morning at 6.00 am, when the cold will return with temperatures approaching -10 degrees.
