Environment Canada reports winter storm heading for Vaudreuil-Soulanges
According to Environment Canada, a second storm is heading straight for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. This one should leave between 25 and 40 centimeters of new precipitation on the ground, and this, by Sunday.
Moderate to strong winds will also cause snowfall, especially near the St. Lawrence, advises the weather forecasting authority. Snow will fall until this morning on Monday, February 17.
The new low pressure system that is coming to Quebec this weekend will intensify rapidly. The sometimes heavy snow and blowing snow will begin on Sunday morning in southern Quebec, then affect the other regions gradually during the day of Sunday and the following night.
Rapid snow accumulation may make movement difficult in some locations. Visibility will suddenly be reduced to almost zero at times under heavy snow and in the blowing snow.
Environment Canada recommends that consideration be given to delaying non-essential movement until conditions improve.
