The citizens of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot will be called to the polls on Sunday, October 27, as part of the Lester B. Pearson School Board's school elections. Pearson School Board. Two candidates, Michael Papoulias and Maureen Baron, are running for the seat of representative for this territory. 

Advance polls will be held on this date, and the election will take place one week later, on Sunday, November 3. The polling station will be set up at St-Patrick Elementary School on Shamrock Street in Pincourt. 

What motivated the candidates to run for office? “After devoting 32 years to education, I retired from the Lester B. Pearson School Board. Pearson School Board in February 2024, most recently as Assistant Director of Information Technology. My career in education taught me the power of asking questions and listening, as well as the importance of empathy. the importance of empathy. I also spent more than 17 years coaching young people and adults in sport, which helped me hone my leadership skills and commitment to making a positive impact,” he says.  

The man who has been married for 36 years and is father to three children, Nick, Georgia and Tommy, is also grandfather to two boys continues. “I believe that my experiences in education and coaching can be valuable assets to the Council of Commissioners. I am committed to helping the Lester B. Pearson School Board community prosper and evolve. Pearson School Board community to prosper and evolve. Lester B. For her part, Maureen Baron holds a bachelor's degree in sociology, a post-graduate diploma in education, a teaching certificate in elementary school mathematics and a master's degree in educational technology.

Professionally, she has worked as an elementary school teacher, educational consultant, director of educational technology, school principal and lecturer at McGill's Faculty of Education.
Its priorities are to support the implementation of the school board's Commitment to Success plan, to facilitate the sharing of information between schools and centers and the Board regarding their successes and challenges, to ensure an equitable sharing of resources between schools and centers, and to contribute to the development of policies and procedures emanating from Ministry of Education directives.

To check your electoral roll, call 1 888 353-2846 between 8:30 a.m. and noon and 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Please note that parents of children currently attending Lester B. Pearson School Board schools are automatically included on the school board's list of electors. Pearson School Board are automatically added to the Board's list of electors, subject to the following conditions: they reside outside the Board's territory, or an error has prevented them from being added (for example, inaccurate information in their file concerning their name or residential address).
