The Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CCIVS) took advantage of its Annual General Assembly held on October 8 to pay a final tribute to its former General Manager Mathieu Miljours. For the occasion, the father of the deceased, Jean-Pierre Miljours, his brother, Stéphane, and his godson, Jean-Christophe, were present to receive the tribute.

With great emotion, Jean-François Blanchard, CCIVS board member and friend, read a text praising Mathieu Miljours' work and dedication to the Chamber of Commerce.

Mathieu, you left too soon. Mathieu, you left in the prime of life. You left without telling us. Mathieu, an adorable son, a supportive brother, a loving father, a loyal friend, a valued colleague, a committed administrator.

You gave and contributed to the smooth running of our Chamber of Commerce for 14 wonderful years. From director to general manager to president, you loved it.

You marked the development of our Chamber by integrating the business associations under your presidency. Your passion for your adopted region enabled you to introduce new events such as the Axents, forums and symposiums, and galas, the latest of which was Imagine 2054.

(...)

Thank you, Mathieu, for being a staunch defender of our community's values. Thank you Mathieu for being an ambassador for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges business community.

During his involvement with the CCIVS, Mathieu Miljours helped organize several key events, including the Axents gala, a prestigious competition that showcases the region's businesses and serves as a springboard to the Mercuriades.

To pay tribute to Mathieu Miljours' work, the CCIVS team posthumously presented an Axent trophy to the former general manager's family and friends.

Mathieu's brother Stéphane, visibly moved, said: “Thank you for your warm welcome. We're going through a difficult period, but knowing that Mathieu was loved and appreciated helps us to keep moving forward. Thank you for the tribute, we really appreciate it. As someone who was very close to Mathieu, I can tell you that he was truly committed and proud to work with you and to stand up alongside you to defend the region's interests.”

A final farewell

Mathieu Miljours' funeral will be held at Saint-Michel church in Vaudreuil-Dorion, on October 26 at 11 a.m. The family will receive condolences at 9:30 a.m.

As a token of sympathy, his family invites the public to make a donation to the Fondation de la Cité-des-Jeunes in Mathieu's memory. https://www.fondationcdj.com/mathieu/ .
