The Pôle d'économie sociale de la Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent invites companies working in this field of expertise on its territory to submit a project for the 6th edition of the Bourses d'initiatives en entrepreneuriat collectif (BIEC). Interested parties can complete the online application form, which will be available until December 1 inclusive.

The aim of this call for projects is to support the emergence and development of social economy enterprises and projects throughout the Montérégie region. Each of the region's MRCs, including the agglomeration of Longueuil, will be offering up to $20,000 to collective entrepreneurs who submit projects under one of the two components.

Please note that envelopes for each territory may vary, depending on the grants awarded in previous years. To find out how much is available in each MRC, please consult the 2024 grant allocation table.

Entrepreneurs wishing to submit their applications can do so via the following link: biec.quebec/. A virtual information session will be held on October 29, at 10 a.m., to review the online questionnaire, learn about eligibility criteria and answer any questions. You can register for this event on the Airtable.com website.

Last year, this grant program generated nearly three million dollars in investment across the region. Of the 88 projects submitted, 42 were selected and received over $320,000 in grants. In Vaudreuil-Soulanges, the Terrasse-Café project took top honours.

For all BIEC-related inquiries, please contact the general management of the territory's social economy cluster.

Where does the tradition of New Year's resolutions come from?

While making resolutions at the start of the year is a time-honored tradition in our culture, its origins are somewhat mixed.
