The call took place on a street accessible via Montée du Bois-Franc.
The mission of the Independent Investigation Bureau is to shed full light on the facts surrounding the police intervention. The IIB investigates all cases in which a person, other than an on-duty police officer, dies, suffers serious injury or is injured by a firearm used by a police officer during a police intervention or while in the custody of a police force.
Four BEI investigators were assigned to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Given the circumstances of the event, the support services of a police force were not required in this case.
No further information is available at this time.
The EIB is asking anyone who may have witnessed this event to contact it via its website at www.bei.gouv.qc.ca/nous.
