Following the resignation of Councillor François Vallières, the City of Coteau-du-Lac must fill the position of Councillor for District #2 - Georges-Jules-Beaudet. 

To be eligible for a position on the council of a municipality, a person must, according to the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities, be registered on the electoral list of the municipality and have resided continuously or not on the territory of the municipality for at least the last 12 months on September 1 of the calendar year in which a general election is to be held.

Interested candidates may submit their candidacy from September 13 to September 27, 2024, to the returning officer, Chantal Paquette.

In the event of multiple candidacies, a by-election is scheduled for October 27, 2024, with an advance polling day on October 20, 2024.
