On Tuesday, July 9, the Coteau-du-Lac municipal council ratified the appointment of a new director for the Fire Department. He is Patrick Laberge, who began his career with the local brigade in February 2007.

His appointment was approved by a unanimous decision of the elected officials. The Coteau-du-Lac Firefighters Association is delighted with this promotion for Mr. Laberge.

He has risen through the ranks from within the department, thanks to his dedication and commitment. Over the past 16 years, he has held the positions of firefighter, lieutenant and captain, making him a prime candidate for the position of IS Director. The firefighters look forward to working with him under his command," says the Association.

"We would also like to thank Mr. Michel Vaillancourt for his years with the Coteau-du-Lac Fire Department and wish him the best of luck in his new professional challenges," the organization writes on its Facebook page.

Mr. Vaillancourt has tendered his resignation, and Mr. Laberge will officially take up his duties at the beginning of August.
