Commemorative ceremony
Canada honors its fallen police officers
This Sunday, September 24, Ottawa hosts the 46th annual ceremony honouring fallen police officers.
Nearly 2,000 police officers from across Canada and the United States will gather in memory of their fallen colleagues. In the past year, 12 police officers lost their lives while on duty.
The police procession will proceed from the Supreme Court of Canada to the memorial opposite the House of Commons. Once there, the names of police officers who have died on duty since the late 1800s will be listed.
Among them will be the name of Sergeant Maureen Breau, who died on March 27 in Trois-Rivières.
More images of the ceremony will follow.
