The MRC supports the Société de développement du Parc historique de la Pointe-du-Moulin
The Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC announces $25,000 in financial support for the Société de développement du Parc historique de la Pointe-du-Moulin.
The funds received will be used to ensure the general operation of the organization, in support of the region's cultural and heritage offering.
"This financial support demonstrates the importance the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges attaches to the mission of the Société de développement du Parc historique de la Pointe-du-Moulin, while ensuring the long-term survival of this unique historic site," emphasizes Patrick Bousez, Prefect of the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Mayor of Rivière-Beaudette.
The Parc historique de la Pointe-du-Moulin is home to the oldest working mill in the country. The site's owners (SODEC) have invested in restoring the building to working order, so that visitors can watch the mill turning when weather conditions permit.
"The support of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC for the mission of the Société de développement du Parc historique de la Pointe-du-Moulin is invaluable, and demonstrates the importance of such a heritage, natural and tourist jewel, which attracts over 30,000 visitors annually," adds Charles-Olivier Bellerose Bélanger, General Manager of the Société de développement du Parc historique de la Pointe-du-Moulin.
