The new Maison de la Famille takes shape
Construction of the new Maison de la famille de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, in Saint-Zotique, is well underway, with the structure and exterior cladding scheduled for completion by the holiday season.
Estimated at $1.2 million, the project is being carried out by design-builder Struxar, a company renowned for its expertise in building performance and carbon-neutral projects, in partnership with architect Claude Matte and contractor Sylvain Ménard.
With this project, the Maison de la Famille aims to reach 250 new families in Soulanges County. The new home will enable the deployment of a number of services and programs, such as homework help and tutoring, language stimulation workshops, a community drop-in daycare center, perinatal programming and access supervision services.
According to Struxar president Maxime Poirier, work began last August and is scheduled for completion in March 2025. The contractor expects to be able to start work on the interior of the house before the holiday season.
The new Maison is scheduled to open in the spring of the same year.
