Up to 30 millimetres of rain expected in Vaudreuil-Soulanges
At the start of March, Environment Canada has issued a special weather bulletin for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges area. Over the next few days, the weather forecasting agency predicts that between 15 and 30 millimetres of rain could fall in the area as early as Wednesday.
In fact, a thaw is expected in the region, which should delight many who will take the opportunity to shed their winter coats, tuques, scarves and mittens. But don't get too excited, as you'll have to swap your winter boots for rain boots and your warm coat for a raincoat.
While temperatures will be on the rise on Wednesday and Thursday, a rainy spell will spoil the festivities. This will start on Wednesday and could dump between 15 and 30 millimetres of water until Thursday.
After a few centimetres of snow, there will be a risk of freezing rain on Wednesday morning, before temperatures rise and rain arrives. The rain combined with melting snow could cause a good accumulation of water on roads and low-lying areas, warns Environment Canada.
Caution is therefore advised when traveling.
