By mid-March, Héma-Québec will be holding four blood collections in the Suroît region for those interested in participating.

The dates and locations of scheduled clinics are as follows:

Monday 10 March:

- Chez Maurice en spectacle (1897 chemin Ste-Angélique, Saint-Lazare) from 1 to 7.30 p.m.;

Tuesday, 11 March:

- Hotel MOCO (40 avenue du Centenaire, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield), from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.;

Thursday 13 March:

- Paul-Brasseur Building (10 rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste Est, Rigaud) from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.;

Monday 17 March:

- Volunteer recreation pavilion (145 rue Valade, Les Cèdres) from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.;

It is recommended that you make an appointment to donate blood. However, if you are passing by a collection site and are available to make a donation, do not hesitate to check with the team on site if they can accommodate you.

Before donating blood

In the hours before your blood donation, it is advisable to drink a minimum of 500 ml of water or juice and make sure you eat well while avoiding fatty foods. To facilitate sampling, wear loose clothing and sleeves that can be raised above the elbow.

You must also have your donor card or ID with you.

Very strict selection criteria have been established if you wish to donate blood. For more information on these criteria, please visit the organization’s website.
