Following an online survey conducted by APUR concerning the future of Parc du Docteur-Oscar-Gendron in Rigaud's west end, the firm has drawn up three concepts for the park's development.

These concepts will be presented on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in the Salle de l'Amitié of the Paul Brasseur building during two separate participatory workshops, the first reserved for businesses, merchants, developers and community organizations, from 2 to 4 p.m., and the other for residents and anyone with a personal interest, from 7 to 9 p.m.

At these workshops, participants will have the chance to visualize the developments, discuss issues of concern to them, and put forward their apprehensions and ideas, which will be reported back to council members.

As the owner of the majority of land in the industrial park, the Town would like to see the construction of apartment buildings authorized in its industrial park, considering that the current Schéma d'aménagement et de développement révisé 3e génération (SADR3), of the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, restricts uses that are detrimental to the long-term development of both the Town and the MRC.

Currently, SADR3 identifies the City's industrial parks within the agri-food cluster. Consequently, it is required that uses related to agri-food activities be authorized and prioritized. The City may, however, authorize uses that are complementary and compatible with agri-food activities. Residential uses are excluded.

A consultation open to all citizens

The aim of the March 27 workshops is to develop a concept that will enable the urban planning division to put in place the regulations required to achieve the objectives desired by the people consulted and the elected officials, including the activities permitted on specific lots, the types of buildings that can be built on them, the public and community spaces to be developed such as parks, lighting, sidewalks, as well as views and spaces to be protected.

Due to limited space in the room, and in order to properly plan the materials required for each workshop, those interested in participating are invited to register by noon on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, according to the interests they represent:

- At the 2 to 4 p.m. workshop, reserved for representatives of companies, businesses, developers and community organizations.

- At the 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. workshop reserved for residents and anyone with a personal interest.

You can also register by telephone at 450 451-0869, ext. 258, specifying your name, the workshop you wish to attend and your telephone number.
