Par Félix Sabourin, Journaliste
The Pionniers M15 were in action on February 21 at the Centre sportif Soulanges, when they received a visit from Collège Jean-Eudes. In their final home game, coach Vincent Lemieux's team won 3-2.
Forward Noah Berniqué and defenseman Mathis Gagnard got on the score sheet in the first period, but let their lead slip in the second when Jean-Eudes tied the game.
It was striker Mathéo Lalonde who finally tipped the balance in Soulange's favor with his 8th goal of the season, late in the third period.
With this victory, the M15s maintain their perfect record with a 19th consecutive win. They will attempt to maintain their perfect season when they take on École secondaire du Coteau, in Mascouche, on Monday, February 24.
Players vs. coaches
At the Soulanges High School carnival on February 21, the M18 Pioneers played a friendly match against a line-up of coaches, teachers and former players from the program.
In a friendly, hard-fought encounter, the U18s lost 4-2. Louis-Philippe Girard and Émerick Proulx scored both their team's goals.
Manny Benoit, currently with the Glengarry Brigade in the EOJHL, scored twice. U18 assistant coach Félix Bourgon and associate coach Jean Backache also found the back of the net. In front of goal, former Pionniers goalkeeper Justin Lessard won the day.
