Community, Cultural, Recreational, and Sports Activities in the Region This Weekend
Here are some community, cultural, recreational, and sports activities taking place in the region this weekend.

Saturday, February 22

Après-Ski Music at Mont Rigaud

Enjoy live music from Rusty Unplugged while sipping on a cold beer. You don't need to be a skier to join!

Where: Bistro Mont Rigaud, Rigaud
When: 5 PM – 8 PM

Exploring the Roots of the World - Saint-Lazare

As part of the project Exploring the Roots of the World, the City of Saint-Lazare, in collaboration with the Société Irlandaise de Soulanges, invites you to discover the Irish community through various activities:

Irish poetry reading and storytelling for children
Guest speaker on Irish history and presentation of Irish authors
Irish buffet (registration required)
Irish dance performance by Costello School of Irish Dance
Traditional Irish music night with Mariner’s Curse (registration required)

Where: Saint-Lazare Community Center – 1301, Rue du Bois
When: 2 PM – Midnight

Feux et Flocons - Vaudreuil-Dorion
The Maison-Valois Park in Vaudreuil-Dorion will host the Fires and Flakes event, starting at 7 PM.

Live performances by DJ Evalicious, Adrien Tosti, and Duffix, performing from the rooftop of the MIXBUS, a school bus converted into a stage. Food and alcoholic beverages will be available on-site (no outside alcohol allowed).

Where: Maison-Valois Park
When: From 7 PM

Sports Day in Coteau-du-Lac
Enjoy the fresh air in Coteau-du-Lac as part of the Plaisirs d'hiver winter festival, featuring:

Fatbike rentals
Introduction to snow skating
Tube sliding
Live music

In the evening, starting at 6 PM, experience illuminated sliding.

Where: Parc Henri-Paul-Desforges (231 Chemin du Fleuve, Coteau-du-Lac)
When: 1 PM – 4 PM & 6 PM – 9 PM (for illuminated sliding)

Workshop on Land Acknowledgements

Led by Brenda Étienne, a Mohawk language and culture professor from Kanehsatà:ke, and Eric Cardinal, an expert consultant on Indigenous relations, this workshop will introduce:

Indigenous rights and territorial acknowledgments
The role of local governments and citizens
A roundtable discussion on Truth and Reconciliation

The workshop will feature Hudson Mayor Chloé Hutchison, Mei-Lyn Freeman (Hudson Forest Play), and the Hudson Arts and Culture Council.

When: 2 PM – 4 PM

Open House | Salaberry Historical and Genealogy Society
Challenge yourself to trace your ancestors during this open house event. Experienced volunteers will help participants discover their family history, places of origin, and key life events.

Where: 80 Rue Saint-Thomas, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield (Bibliothèque Armand-Frappier)
When: 10 AM – 3 PM

Dinner Show for L'Accueil pour Elle
An Elvis Reimagined dinner show featuring Sylvain Leduc, Canada’s best Elvis impersonator.

Tickets: $70 per person – Available through SSJB Valleyfield Bellerive Section at 450-374-2964 or 450-377-2919.
