This week, from February 10 to 14, 2025, the 21st edition of Hooked on School Days (JPS) takes place under the theme “Perseverance makes all the difference”. This initiative aims to highlight all the efforts that lead to achievements, since success is not instantaneous and behind every success lie hours, months and years of effort.

Throughout the week, the MRC and the Comité en réussite éducative et sociale de Vaudreuil-Soulanges are inviting the entire population to highlight the importance of every action that supports the journey of young people, from early childhood to adulthood. A wide range of activities are carried out each year by local organizations and schools.

As part of this 21st edition, 18 $500 scholarships will be awarded to secondary and post-secondary students from the Centre de services scolaires des Trois-Lacs, the Lester B. Pearson School Board and the Cégep des Trois-Lacs. Pearson School Board and Cégep de Valleyfield.

This initiative, financed by the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC, is also made possible by the financial support of Soulanges MNA Marilyne Picard, Vaudreuil MNA Marie-Claude Nichols, Vaudreuil-Soulanges MP Peter Schiefke and Salaberry-Suroît MP Claude DeBellefeuille.

These scholarships recognize students who have experienced significant obstacles in their academic careers, and who have maintained their efforts to overcome them. They are also intended to recognize students with atypical backgrounds or young people at risk of dropping out, to give them a helping hand in the right direction. The scholarships will be awarded to deserving students as part of their school's activities.

On Thursday February 13, green, the symbol of youth and hope, is in the spotlight. The entire population is invited to wear green; whether it's a ribbon, a piece of clothing or an accessory, take a photo of yourself and share the images on social media with the keywords #perséVERTVS #JPS2025 to create a great wave of support for the young people of Vaudreuil-Soulanges!
