The next meeting has been rescheduled for 24 February
Vaudreuil-Dorion : partial opening of the municipal centre on February 17
The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion is pleased to announce that as of February 17, all municipal services currently located at 2555 rue Dutrisac will be transferred to 2000 rue Émile-Bouchard. Residents are invited to use this new address for all administrative purposes.
Please note that the next municipal council meeting, scheduled for February 17, has been postponed to February 24 at the new municipal centre.
Departments affected by the move
The following municipal departments will now be grouped together at the new address: Town Hall and General Management, Urban Planning, Communications, Finance and Treasury, Engineering and Environment, Town Clerk's Office and Legal Affairs, Human Resources, and Information Technology and Geomatics.
Opening hours for municipal departments remain unchanged: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Access to the new Town Hall
Although the move to the new Town Hall takes effect on 17 February, some of the work at the municipal centre will not be completed. However, the City must vacate the premises at 2555 rue Dutrisac to allow the Cégep de Valleyfield to undertake redevelopment work to expand the Centre d'études de Vaudreuil-Dorion.
"As the Cégep de Valleyfield is taking over all our spaces. In order to allow the institution to begin the work and be ready to welcome the students, we have decided to take over the building of the Centre d'études de Vaudreuil-Dorion. For the time being, we are only inviting residents to go to the new Town Hall if they need a municipal service. We understand their impatience to discover the municipal centre, but work is still underway, which limits access to certain areas. The library will open its doors in the spring, and a number of events will mark its official inauguration," said Olivier Van Neste, Director General of the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Access to the municipal centre is via the entrance on the parking side. Temporary signage has been put in place to direct visitors.
New and improved telephone service
A new and improved telephone service has been in place for a few days now. Based on the one-stop-shop concept, a municipal employee will answer every call to provide a more efficient service. The aim of this initiative is to centralise requests, standardise responses and optimise the handling of citizens' queries.
Thanks to collaboration between several municipal departments, this project will improve the quality of support offered to residents. Ultimately, the municipal hub will bring together the library, the town hall and a public square on a single site. Residents are invited to visit the town's website and follow their Facebook page to find out when the library will open.
