The Town of Hudson is pleased to announce the purchase of the vacant lot located at 517 Main Road. This property will serve as the site for an affordable housing project to be developed in collaboration with the non-profit organization Toit d’Abord Affordable Housing Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

I am excited about the prospect of providing affordable housing to our community and confident this project will showcase how thoughtful development can succeed in a tighter urban setting while providing improved living spaces and functionality for both neighbours and residents”, says
Chloe Hutchison, Mayor, Town of Hudson.

The decision to acquire the lot for $575,000, was made after validation with a professional land evaluator and a detailed project cost assessment by Toit d’Abord. Through an incentive program
established by the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM), the Town will be reimbursed for the full cost of the lot, as well as any additional contribution it chooses to make, up to 20% of the project's total cost.

Open meetings with nearby residents are planned, to ensure their concerns and needs are considered throughout the project's development. The Town of Hudson is excited to embark on this journey with Toit d’Abord, an organization that shares our commitment to fostering a more inclusive and supportive community.

"Toit d’Abord Affordable Housing Vaudreuil-Soulanges is pleased to work closely with the Town of Hudson to invest in a major affordable housing project. This initiative aims to provide residents of Hudson and the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region—whether they are young people, families, or seniors—with the opportunity to live, work, and thrive in their community. The project will also support employers in Hudson and the surrounding area by making it easier to attract and retain workers, while generating collective and economic wealth for the greater benefit of the entire community", confirms Geneviève Lachance, president of Toit d’Abord, and Mayor of Ville de Saint-Lazare.
