A blood drive is being organized by the Île-Perrot Firefighters Association and Fire Department on February 6 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come and meet Héma-Québec staff and firefighters at the Paul-Émile-Lépine community centre at 150, boulevard Perrot, in L'Île-Perrot.

Make an appointment now via Héma-Québec at: bit.ly/42vNSKx or by telephone at 1-800-343-7264.

We recommend that you make an appointment to donate blood. However, if you are passing by a blood drive and are available to donate, don't hesitate to check with the team on site to see if they can accommodate you.

Before donating blood

In the hours leading up to your blood donation, we recommend that you drink at least 500 ml of water or juice and eat well, avoiding fatty foods. To make blood collection easier, wear loose-fitting clothing with sleeves that can be rolled up above the elbow.

You should also carry your donor card or proof of identity.

Very strict selection criteria have been established if you wish to donate blood. To find out more about these criteria or for more information, visit the Héma-Québec website.
