A 54-year-old man was arrested during an operation led by Sûreté du Québec investigators from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC station. The operation brought together some ten police officers, the tactical intervention group and a dog handler in Terrasse-Vaudreuil on January 28. They searched a residence on 2nd Boulevard in Terrasse-Vaudreuil.

The man remained in custody and appeared the next day at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse on charges of robbery and use of a forged firearm.

The objective of this operation was to put an end to the activities of a group of suspects who were committing robberies with the collaboration of accomplices in various businesses in the area between December 2024 and January 2025. Investigators linked the suspects to four robberies in the Pincourt, Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot areas.

Police seized

over three grams of cocaine, over six grams of hashish, close to six kilograms of cannabis, approximately 86 grams of crack cocaine, over 460 methamphetamine tablets and Canadian currency.

The investigation is ongoing and further arrests may follow.
