The Centre de services scolaires des Trois-Lacs (CSSTL) has confirmed that, as of the 2025-2026 school year, all students at Marguerite-Bourgeoys elementary school in Les Cèdres will be moved to École des Canotiers.

This decision, taken by the Board of Directors of the LSUHC on January 9, follows a consultation process during which the Governing Boards of both Marguerite-Bourgeoys and des Canotiers schools made representations to this effect.

School des Canotiers currently caters for preschool (ages 4 and 5) and grades 1 and 2, while École Marguerite-Bourgeoys caters for grades 3 to 6, as well as three special education classes.

Requests to the Ministry of Education

Requests have been made to the Quebec Ministry of Education to proceed with the demolition and reconstruction of École Marguerite-Bourgeoys. Last November, the CSSTL confirmed to Néomédia that the project involved the construction of a new 15-classroom facility. To date, the CSSTL is still awaiting a response from the Ministry of Education.
