At the end of the Junior Winter Classic, three teams from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region took top honours in their respective categories. The Seigneurs de Soulanges M11 B, M18 A and the Titans de Vaudreuil-Dorion claimed the coveted banners. 

The final day of La Classique hivernale came to a close on Sunday, January 19, at the end of 15 games held on the ice of Saint-Zotique's refrigerated rink. With the mercury hovering around -15 degrees and the wind in the air, the games went on to crown the champions in each category. 

Several youngsters from different categories were in action at Parc des Quatre-Saisons, combining their efforts to help their teams get their hands on the champions' banner. 

In their match against the Laval-Est Stars, the Seigneurs de Soulanges in the M11 B category defeated their opponents to record the first shutout of the day by a score of 12-0. 

For their part, Les Seigneurs de Soulanges in the U18 A category played a very close game against the Windsor Wild. The local team, coached by Olivier Limoges, took advantage of every opportunity and capitalized on their scoring chances to win 3-2. 

As for the Titans de Vaudreuil-Dorion, who were up against Bastions BS de Blainville in the M13B category, they came out on top against their North Shore rivals, finding the back of the net eight times to their rivals' one.

Every year, the Saint-Zotique Winter Classic is divided into two sections: the Junior and Senior. While the first ended this Sunday, the second will begin this Friday, January 24, and run until Sunday, January 26. 

Earlier in January, in a video interview, Julie Paradis, Director of the Ville de Saint-Zotique's Service des loisirs, de la culture et de la vie communautaire, confirmed that La Classique hivernale offers excellent visibility for both the Town and the refrigerated rink.

She added that, over the years, numerous investments have been made to improve the infrastructures. These include a new resurfacing machine to ensure ice quality, new picture windows installed this year, and a heated chalet to enable users to change in comfort.

For his part, Guillaume Maheu-Drouin, coordinator of community relations and new media for the Ville de Saint-Zotique, invited citizens to visit the refrigerated rink during La Classique hivernale to support the participating teams. According to him, the event wouldn't be the same without the presence of fans.
