Center d'action bénévole L'Actuel's holiday giving campaign, which ran from November 15 to December 31, was a resounding success, according to the organization.

The organization confirms that a total of $50,000 was raised during the campaign.

“Thanks to the solidarity and kindness of many donors, Fondation L'Actuel was able to raise the impressive sum of $50,000. These funds will support the essential services of the Centre d'action bénévole L'Actuel and help our community even more,” we emphasize.

Founded in 1982, L'Actuel is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism in various sectors of human activity, in order to meet a variety of needs, including volunteer development, community support and associative life.

Since its foundation, the organization has been working with the Vaudreuil-Soulanges community, helping people in difficulty, families, seniors, newcomers, the chronically ill, people in convalescence or with disabilities, as well as local organizations.

Over 30,000 services are provided to the population each year. These services include food assistance, clothing assistance, friendship visits, community kitchens, thrift shops, tax clinics and medical transportation, to name but a few.

In 2023-2024, 315 people used L'Actuel's medical transportation services. A total of 1,123 transports were carried out, representing over 4,230 volunteer hours.

The medical accompaniment-transport service is offered to elderly, sick or frail people who need to go to medical appointments in the region, but also outside the area.
