On Tuesday, January 7, around 4:30 p.m., a hit-and-run occurred in Saint-Lazare, seriously injuring a young man in his twenties. The collision took place on a bike path at the intersection of Côte Saint-Charles and rue Cumberland, where the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

According to the victim's family, the driver fled the scene after stopping briefly to inspect the damage to his vehicle. The victim was taken to hospital with significant injuries, although his life is not in danger. 

The family is now trying to understand what happened.

Sûreté du Québec spokeswoman Ève Brochu-Joubert confirms that no arrests have yet been made. “The investigation is ongoing and we invite anyone with information or who witnessed the event to contact us at 310-4141,” she said.

Authorities are appealing to the public to help identify the driver and provide any information that may help clarify the circumstances of the collision.
