A chip to record every lift
New intelligent compost collection system launched in Saint-Zotique
Ville de Saint-Zotique is proud to launch a new intelligent compost collection system, with a microchip integrated into each bin. This innovation makes it possible to record each collection and optimize collection management. To maximize the efficiency of this system, the city invites its residents to place their bins at the curb only when they are full or almost full.
Why collect only when the bin is full?
By maximizing each collection, we can :
- Reduce collection costs collectively;
- Save on taxes.
The city wants to put in place responsible habits that will have a positive impact on its community and its citizens' pocketbooks.
Compost collection frequency in 2025 - still Tuesdays
- Winter (November 15 to April 1): every 2 weeks;
- Summer (April 2 to November 14): every week.
What to put in your bins?
Accepted :
- Food waste: fruit, vegetables, meat, bones, dairy products;
- Garden waste: leaves, grass, wilted flowers;
- Compostable materials: paper towels, coffee filters, certified compostable bags.
Refused: plastic, glass, metals, hazardous products.
A collective gesture for the environment and the economy
The City hopes to reduce landfill waste and improve its ecological footprint, while contributing to the municipality's financial health.
The City thanks its citizens for their cooperation and commitment to a greener, more responsible Saint-Zotique.
