Just hours after the announcement of the resignation of the Prime Minister of Canada and leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, Justin Trudeau, Peter Schiefke, Member of Parliament for Vaudreuil-Soulanges, salutes the work of his leader.

I would like to thank the Prime Minister for his service to Canada, particularly during an unprecedented period of turbulence. I would also like to thank him for the trust he has placed in me over the past nine years, asking me to take on many important roles and files in Ottawa - roles that have enabled me to implement positive change both nationally and in our community of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to do so,” he wrote in a letter.

Between now and the appointment of a new leader for the LPC, but also between now and the election of a new Prime Minister, Peter Schiefke is inviting the public to express their views on the changes they would like to see.

Whether it's at my constituency office, in community centers, at local events, at the train station or simply by running into you at the rink, I invite you to share your thoughts, comments and ideas on how to solve the problems we face as a community and as a country.”

Nevertheless, Peter Schiefke wishes to reassure the Vaudreuil-Soulanges community of his commitment. “During this transition, I will continue to focus on what matters most to you, your loved ones and this incredible place we call home.I will work with community leaders, seniors' groups, small business owners, entrepreneurs, students and community organizations to ensure the prosperity and security of Vaudreuil-Soulanges and to protect the natural beauty we all cherish and appreciate.”

“Canada was built on good ideas that brought about positive change, and the hard work and dedication that made those ideas a reality. This time is no different,” he concludes.
