Rafaël Cloutier wears number 34
Pointe-Fortunais joins the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada
The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, a field hockey team that has been playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League since the 2011-2012 season, recently announced the signing of Pointe-Fortune-born left winger Rafaël Cloutier. The six-foot-three, 187-pound youngster has been playing in the United States in recent months.
In the last few days, Olivier Picard's team announced the signing of the youngster, who wears number 34 on the ice. Until last December, the left-handed player played for South Kent School in Connecticut. He had been a member of the 18U Prep team since last season, before joining Clarkson University following his junior league career.
Before joining his new black-and-white outfit, Cloutier scored 46 points in 34 games for his American team. After his stay in la belle province, the winger will study at Clarkson University, a private university in New York State specializing in engineering and other sciences.
The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada has twenty or so regular-season games left before the playoffs. The next one takes place this Friday, January 10 at 7 p.m. against the Rimouski Oceanic at the Colisée Financière Sun Life.
