Until November 20, residents of L'Île-Perrot were able to vote for one of two finalist projects as part of the 2024 participatory budget. These suggestions aimed to improve the living environment of the population and were selected by the municipal administration after a feasibility study.

In 2025, $50,000 will be drawn from the municipal budget to bring the winning idea to fruition.

Here are the two winning ideas:

1) Addition of benches under the trees in Parc de la Famille;

2) Greening the Michel-Martin park parking lot.

In the end, the second proposal was chosen. The city will soon begin planning this project

What principles had to be respected when submitting an idea to the participatory budget? Equity and inclusion, as well as sustainable development.

The participatory budget is part of a fair and inclusive approach. Equal opportunities are offered to all participants and all ideas submitted. These should meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations.
