Recently, Santé Québec Montérégie-Ouest's Quality Consulting and Practice Development team from the Nursing and University Teaching Department - Mental Health Section was the recipient of the Prix Intégration 2024. This award recognizes the excellence and commitment demonstrated by the winner in his or her innovative project. 

In concrete terms, for over a year now, the Quality Consulting and Practice Development team at the DSIEU mental health and dependency unit has been working actively to develop the skills of nursing staff to better meet the needs of users. Here are the highlights of their initiative:

- Design of addiction training, integrated into the orientation curriculum, which was offered to 47 mental health unit staff and 25 paramedics as part of the community mental health paramedicine project.

- Specific training for two nurses in adapted follow-up, including an additional component to better support clients with opioid use disorders.

- Implementation of a procedure for the distribution of STBBI protective equipment and naloxone kits within the brief intensive home treatment (BHIT) teams and the Saint-Constant outpatient mental health clinic.

- Integration of addiction and harm reduction elements into the kardex of hospital units.

What is the Prix Intégration 2024?It is awarded to an individual or team that distinguishes itself through outstanding leadership, involvement and achievement. 

It recognizes efforts to improve the integration of care and services for people living with concurrent disorders. The winner stands out for his or her ability to establish interdisciplinary partnerships and implement best practices, with a positive impact on the organization and the network as a whole.
