On October 1, the Boucherville Sûreté du Québec's Internet Child Sexual Exploitation Investigation Team arrested 33-year-old Alexandre Boivin from the Montérégie region, in connection with child pornography offences and a breach of an order. Following his arrest, he appeared in court and remained in custody.

Last December, six new charges of computer luring of victims under the age of 16 were laid against him. The investigation suggests that the suspect may have victimized other minors.

Alexandre Boivin used false profiles on various social platforms to contact his victims. To commit the offences, he used various pseudonyms, including;

- Koraly Roy;
- Océ Anne;
- Oceanne;
- Oceanne Love;
- Elianne Love;

Since several victims have been identified, the Serial Crime Investigation Management Structure (GECS), coordinated by the Sûreté du Québec, has been deployed. This is a unified command structure in which Quebec police forces work in partnership to rapidly identify and arrest predatory offenders. This provincial coordination allows police resources to be pooled, and is designed to better protect victims.

The Sûreté du Québec would also like to remind the public that it is always welcome to submit confidential information.
