For 2025, investments of $7,588,600 are planned

Rigaud adopts an ITP of more than $30M for 2025, 2026 and 2027

At a special meeting held on December 18, the elected officials of the Ville de Rigaud approved the adoption of the PTI 2025-2027, which includes investments totalling more than $30M over the next three years. 

For 2025, capital expenditures will total $7,588,600. They will be financed by borrowing by-laws, grants, taxation, the working capital fund, the general fund, the free surplus and the park fund. 

Here are the projects included in the ITP for the coming year: 

- Annual paving: $273,900; 

- Paving and edging of parking lot - municipal garage: $200,000; 

- Bicycle path - railroad: $2,118,500; 

- Fees and expenses - wastewater: $70,000; 

- Aerated ponds: $231,100; 

- Upgrading of Poudrière treatment system: $27,400; 

- PP5 start-up: $157,500; 

- Replacement of aerators at the wastewater treatment plant: $106,000; 

- Generators - sanitary sewer system: $218,000; 

- Implementation of drinking water protection plan: $21,000; 

- Hôtel-de-Ville and Levac infrastructure: $2,227,000; 

- Demolition of rest area: $128,000; 

- Purchase of 10-wheelers: $336,00. 

- Municipal park repairs: $100,000; 

- Roofing - Chalet de l'Escapade: $105,000; 

- D.E.L. park lights: $577,400; 

- Petanque court repairs: $23,100;

- Municipal council hall: $95,500; 

- Construction of a garage-warehouse to replace 18 St-Antoine: $620,000; 

- Security system - P.-B. and R.-L.S. buildings: $12,600; 

- Purchase of 4-wheeler and trailer for getaway trails: $20,800; 

For the years 2026 and 2027, the ITP calls for capital expenditures of $14,715,600 and $10,289,400. 

All councillors voted in favour of the ITP. District 1 representative Charles Meunier, however, had one comment on the subject. “Congratulations and thank you to the municipal team for the work accomplished in a difficult context. Your work had to be done in a condensed timeframe. Is the ITP good enough for me? No, but I applaud the effort. I'm still going to vote for it,” he said at the end of the meeting.
