The Municipality of Les Coteaux announces its collaboration with the Route des Arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges to turn the Laurier-Léger building, located at 199 Principale Street, into a vibrant cultural hub accessible to all. To inaugurate this renewed vision, a rich and diversified program is proposed for winter and spring 2025.

From January 16, 2025, the whole family will be able to discover a host of fun cultural activities on site.  On the program: painting classes for children, drawing and jewelry-making workshops, a photo club for image enthusiasts, as well as a lecture on seedlings and community gardening.

In March, there will be a group exhibition and the “À vos pinceaux, pARTez!” art competition, details of which will be announced shortly.

Registration and information

Registration for workshops will open on January 7, 2025, on the Municipalité des Coteaux website. This will be a great opportunity to take part in enriching activities and discover new passions in a dynamic cultural space.

La Route des Arts de Vaudreuil-Soulanges evolves with a new partnership in Les Coteaux, transforming the Laurier-Léger building into a place of learning, dissemination and exchange between artists and the public. This project highlights the richness of local artistic creation, while offering an accessible space to discover the inspirations, techniques and approaches of local artists.

For history buffs, the Laurier-Léger building, located at 199, rue Principale, is today a dynamic cultural space rooted in the history of the Municipalité des Coteaux. From 1859 to 1953, this heritage building served as the Vaudreuil County courthouse, playing a key role in regional judicial life. Later, it continued to contribute to the community by hosting meetings of the mayors of the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

In recent years, major renovations have been undertaken to preserve this building of great heritage value. This emblematic venue is now the heart of Les Coteaux's cultural initiatives, offering varied programming for all ages in a warm and inspiring atmosphere.
