Budget 2025
Saint-Zotique Residents to See 3.98% Property Tax Increase in 2025
Residents of Saint-Zotique can expect an average increase of 3.98% in their property tax bills for 2025. This announcement was made by the municipal council on Tuesday, December 17, during the adoption of the new municipal budget.
To address the city’s priorities, municipal tax rates are set to rise. This increase, slightly higher than the Consumer Price Index (CPI), reflects the operational expenses needed to maintain the quality of services provided to residents.
For a home valued at $400,294, the average tax increase will be 3.98%. There will also be an adjustment to regional contributions of $325,500 (14.5%) and changes to service fees, including recycling and composting tariffs, which will see an adjustment of $46.50.
Despite these adjustments, Saint-Zotique’s tax rates remain competitive. With a base property tax rate of $0.3950 per $100 of valuation, the town continues to offer one of the most advantageous tax structures in the region.
“This 2025 budget reflects our efforts to ensure harmonious development and responsible management of municipal resources. Budget adjustments, though essential, are implemented with a long-term vision aimed at delivering quality services while addressing the aspirations of future generations,” stated Mayor Yvon Chiasson.
A Future-Focused Budget
With economic stability regained, the 2025 budget prioritizes strategic investments and strict expense control to ensure modern services that meet residents’ needs.
Budget adjustments aim to balance financial obligations while minimizing the impact on taxpayers.
