During the holiday season, and more specifically on December 25 and January 1, the vast majority of businesses will be closed to allow everyone to enjoy a little festivity. However, some establishments will remain open.

To make sure you're not caught unprepared, here's the list of businesses and services that will be open or closed on December 25.

Open

- Some pharmacies;

- Some convenience stores;

- Some restaurants;

- Gas stations;

- Essential services hospitals, police, fire, ambulance, water treatment, etc.

Closed

- Most grocery stores;

- SAQ;

- SQDC;

- Ecocentres;

- Cash registers and banks

For Boxing Day enthusiasts, stores will reopen at 1 p.m. on December 26.

Health care facilities

Health care establishments governed by the CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest have also revised their schedules for the holiday season. All blood collection centers will be closed on December 25 and 26, and January 1 and 2.

The Suroît Hospital emergency department, the CLSC and ambulatory services center in Vaudreuil-Dorion and the CLSC in Salaberry-deValleyfield will all be open during these same periods.

Public transport

The Vaudreuil-Hudson train line and bus service will operate according to normal schedules on weekends and public holidays.
