Saint-Lazare residents and non-residents aged 5 to 14 who are interested in cross-country skiing will be able to take up this popular winter sport. Starting in January, the J'm l'hiver ski school will be offering cross-country skiing lessons in Saint-Lazare, to teach basic techniques while having fun.

The activity will take place on the trails of the Parc Nature Les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare. It will be held in French, and a maximum of ten participants per age group will be accepted. Young skiers must have cross-country skis to take part. Otherwise, it will be possible to learn the locality on site.

Training will take place on Saturdays from January 4 to February 22, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., depending on the age group.

The Jeannot Lapin course is offered to children aged 5 to 6. At this age, the aim is to be active and have fun while learning about skiing. Poles are not required.

The Jack Rabbit course is offered to children aged 7 to 14. Children will be evaluated at the beginning of the season and grouped with the group that best corresponds to their level (up to 4 levels).

The cost of registration is as follows: for 5- to 6-year-olds enrolling in the Jack Rabbit course, the fee is $160. For others, ages 7 to 14, the cost is $190. Registrations are open until Friday, December 20, by calling 450 575-9059.
