The closing evening of the “Vocation en Art” exhibition, held last night at Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi (CJE) Vaudreuil-Soulanges, was a resounding success, bringing together artists and their families, jury members and invited guests. The event marked the end of an eight-week exhibition showcasing the work of 17 young local artists and their outstanding works, in a variety of disciplines including painting, collage and digital arts.

The awards were presented at a warm ceremony, followed by a closing cocktail party, allowing all participants to discuss the works and celebrate the richness of the region's art scene.

The judges took a moment to meet all the young artists and comment on their work. The jury was made up of three art experts: Frédéric Desjardins, visual arts teacher at Cégep de Valleyfield, Mélissa Gagné, cultural coordinator for the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion, and Isabelle Turcotte, Vaudreuil-Soulanges artist and owner of L'ÉFAIT art school.

Prizes for originality and creativity

Jury members selected a winning entry, rewarding the innovation and technical mastery of artist Gabrielle Larouche for her work La Forêt.

What's more, from October 15 to December 11, visitors to the CJE were able to vote for their favorite work. The prize was awarded to Gabrielle Larouche for her work : La Forêt.

An initiative to support emerging talent

The “Vocation en Art” event is a unique opportunity for the CJE Vaudreuil-Soulanges to showcase the creativity and dynamism of young local artists. In addition to giving young talent a chance to make a name for themselves, the exhibition provided a much-needed platform for their artistic and professional development. For several years now, the CJE has been committed to supporting the careers of emerging artists through initiatives such as this one.

A fine conclusion, but not the end

Although the exhibition is now over, the artists and their works will continue to live on through various support and promotional initiatives offered by the CJE Vaudreuil-Soulanges, as well as by local partners. The CJE would like to warmly thank all the artists, jury members, volunteers and public for their presence and support.

Vocation en Art" is a true testament to the cultural effervescence that exists in the region, and we are proud to contribute to its enhancement”, said Stéphanie Gagnon, Project Manager at CJE Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
