Gymini puts on a good show at the XMAS Cup
On December 6 and 7, Club Gymini hosted the 4th edition of the XMAS Cup. Dozens of athletes from prestigious clubs such as Viagym, Gymibik, Campiagile, Envol de Lévis and Gymfly took part in the event. Gymini athletes also shone throughout the competition, once again demonstrating their talent and determination.
The competition opened on Friday evening, with athletes competing in the Masters before moving on to the Challenges on Saturday morning. The afternoon was devoted to regional athletes.
“We're proud of Gymini's Défi athletes, who put on a great competition and showed determination and passion throughout the event. Congratulations to all on their performances”, said the organization.
Défi athletes competing included Léanne Aspirot, Clara-Rose Duplantie, Emma Fleurent, Emily Nicole Garzon Rojas, Daphné Lamarche, Anabelle McManus, Emma Rose Stromei and Béatrice Woo Sun Cheong.
Results of other Gymini athletes in competition
Léane Woo Sun Cheong (R3, 11-12 years) had a fall-free competition, always in control. She placed 4th on floor and won a bronze medal on vault. She won five gold medals: uneven bars, trampoline, tumbling, beam and total apparatus.
In the same category, Anne-Michelle Dorval achieved her goal of landing a reversal on beam and a grand bonhomme on uneven bars. She finished 5th on vault, 4th on tumbling, and won a bronze medal on beam, a silver medal on uneven bars and a gold medal on floor. She leaves with a silver medal for total apparatus.
Èva Mayor (R3, 11-12 years) put in some very good performances. She took 6th place on beam, two bronze medals on tumbling and trampoline, and two silver medals on vault and floor. She also won the bronze medal for total apparatus.
For her first competition, Kiara McCabe (R3, 11-12 years) showed good ability. Despite a fall on beam, she finished the competition with good results. She took 6th place on trampoline and a bronze medal on uneven bars. She finished 6th overall.
For her first competition, Florence Fogeron-O'Brien (R3, 11-12 years) finished 5th on bars and 5th overall on apparatus, an excellent start that augurs well for the future.
Jade Garner (R3, 9-10 years) was also competing for the first time in this category. She took first place and gold overall, on vault, beam and floor.
Maina D'Amour-Lalonde (R3, age 9-10) performed well in her first competition, finishing 2nd overall and winning gold on bar and silver on vault and floor.
Laurie Riel (R3, age 9-10) performed well in her first competition, finishing 3rd overall and taking gold on trampoline and silver on bar and beam.
For her first competition of the season, Anais Gagné (R3, 9-10 years) performed well, finishing 4th overall and taking 2nd place on bar and 3rd place on vault and beam.
For her very first participation in this category, Laurie Guay (R3, 9-10 years) took 8th place overall, 6th place on vault and 8th place on floor. She presented a good routine on the bar.
Also making her debut in this category, Mégane Desautels (R3, 11-12 yrs) rose to the challenge, winning bronze on floor and 6th place on trampoline, as well as 8th place on bar.
For her debut in this category, Rebecca Rebecca Sabourin (R3, 11-12 years) stood out on the bar, taking 4th place, as well as 10th place on floor.
Finally, in her very first participation in this category, Lauriane Legault (R3, 11-12 years) rose to the challenge, taking 4th place on beam.
