Another busy week draws to a close. Here's what's been happening in Vaudreuil-Soulanges over the past few days.     

Quebec tightens access to driver's license for newcomers

On Thursday, December 5, the Quebec government announced new measures to restrict access to driver's licenses for certain immigrants, with the aim of improving road safety.

Call for 2025 submissions to the Fonds communautaire Écoprojets

Under the Fonds communautaire Écoprojets, la Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion offers a grant of up to $5,000 per project, taxes included, subject to the availability of funds.

SAAQ to reuse same photo for driver's licenses expiring in 2025

To save customers having to go to a point of service to renew their photo driver's license, the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) will automatically reuse the photo currently on file to produce their new plastic driver's license for the year 2025.

A Lieutenant-Governor's medal to celebrate 60 years of volunteering

Gaétan Prégent, who has accumulated sixty years of volunteer work with various organizations in the Suroît region, was recently rewarded for his commitment. He was one of the recipients of the Quebec Lieutenant-Governor's medal at a ceremony held on December 1 at the Saint-Hubert military base. Interview with a man who has no intention of stopping giving of his time to others, even at 76. 

Fifteen local producers carry out sustainable environmental initiatives

On Wednesday, December 11, the Fédération de l'UPA de la Montérégie and ALUS celebrated the efforts of farmers who, over a five-year period, have been involved in creating, restoring and conserving natural spaces on farmland. Among them are some fifteen producers from Vaudreuil-Soulanges. 

The Macdonald Campus Farm in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue champion for milk quality

Agropur announces that McGill University’s Macdonald Campus Farm in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue has been named the Regional Champion for Milk Quality. This award is awarded after an assessment of milk quality over a 12-month period, followed by an inspection of the milking environment.

CCIVS introduces its new General Manager

The team at the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CCIVS) announced the arrival of Taï Cory as the organization's new General Manager. The announcement was made at the annual holiday 5 à 8 held this Thursday, December 12.
