Pincourt Signs Civil Security Assistance Agreement with Fleury Michon Amérique
On December 3, Pincourt Mayor Claude Comeau and Fleury Michon Amérique (FMA) Vice President of Production, Laurent Avril signed a civil security mutual aid agreement.
The agreement provides for the supply of frozen food containers in the event of disasters, which can be quickly distributed and reheated using microwave ovens. Partner municipalities Très-Saint-Rédempteur and Pointe-Fortune will also benefit from this new agreement.
“Having Fleury Michon Amérique’s support during a disaster that impacts our communities is a significant advantage, enabling us to be more efficient and resilient for the benefit of our citizens,” said Pincourt Mayor Claude Comeau.
This emergency food assistance initiative complements the services outlined in an agreement signed earlier this year with St. John Ambulance.
For Laurent Avril, Vice President of Production at FMA, this initiative aligns perfectly with the company’s entrepreneurial values and commitment to social responsibility. “It reflects our dedication to supporting and assisting affected communities when disasters occur,” Avril said.
Recognizing that the first 72 hours following a disaster are critical, the Town of Pincourt aims to implement simple and effective solutions to provide healthy, high-quality meals to responders and those affected.
“Feeding people during a disaster requires careful consideration of several factors, including available resources, logistics, availability, diversity, and, of course, quality. With this in mind, FMA was an obvious partner given their expertise and guiding principle: Always full of nutrients to keep people moving forward,” said Eric Martel, Manager of Resilience, Risks, and Disasters and Deputy Civil Security Coordinator.
