The 2024 edition of the Guignolée des médias du Suroît was held on Thursday, December 5. The annual street collection raised over $155,000 at 14 collection sites in eight communities across the region.

All the money raised by the 375 volunteers at the various collection points was donated to Moisson Sud-Ouest, the food bank serving the Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Beauharnois-Salaberry and Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent regions.

For those interested, the food drive will continue until December 31. As the number of people in need of food aid continues to grow, Moisson Sud-Ouest is calling on the entire community to get involved. Every day, more and more children, workers and families face hunger.

“In addition to the street collection event, the Media Food Drive is also a major collective online monetary donation initiative. The funds raised at this time are absolutely crucial to the operation of the food bank throughout the year,” says Yan Ouellette, Director of Communications & Philanthropy at Moisson Sud-Ouest.
