To save customers having to go to a point of service to renew their photo driver's license, the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) will automatically reuse the photo currently on file to produce their new plastic driver's license for the year 2025.

The SAAQ will mail the payment notice in one mailing and the new license in a second. Customers are invited to pay for their driver's licence through their financial institution (online or in-branch services) or by mail.

The reuse of the driver's license photo means that customers do not have to visit a service point, freeing up appointment slots for others.

Health insurance card renewal

To renew their health insurance card, customers must mail the completed and signed renewal form to RAMQ: there's no need to visit an SAAQ office.

RAMQ will reuse the photo already in their file to produce the new plastic health insurance card for the year 2025.

For special cases, visit ramq.gouv.qc.ca. This link will open in a new window for more information. The health insurance card is valid until the last day of the month in which it expires.
