The Disability Action Plan Committee of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de la Montérégie-Ouest, now Santé Québec Montérégie-Ouest, recently submitted its 2023-2C024 annual report.

The 22-page document reports on the progress of the various measures and actions identified in the action plan. Of these, 10 have been completed. The same number are ongoing, while 11 measures are in progress. One has been abandoned as irrelevant, while another is under review. Finally, ten are not applicable and eight have not been implemented for various reasons.

Three success stories

The document also highlights three major achievements:

- Universal accessibility training offered to partners by the Service de soutien aux partenaires et à la communauté (SSAPAC) in collaboration with the CISSS de la Montérégie-Centre.

Successful collaboration: This training has successfully reached 250 partners, including MSSS representatives, over the past 4 years, strengthening collaboration and awareness. Thanks to the SSAPAC team from the Direction des programmes Déficiences; a committed and dedicated team!

- CISSSMO's first participation in Duo Emploi

Exemplary integration: The integration of 5 disabled trainees was also a real success, offering an enriching experience for both the trainees and our company. Many thanks to the people who welcomed them for a one-day internship as part of Disabled People's Week last June.

- Training - A respectful approach adapted to people with disabilities

Training a must: Thanks to training that is now mandatory for certain job titles when they take up their new positions, the number of participants who have taken the training has now reached 560 since last year!

What's more, the organization has set up a human resources team to support the hiring and retention of disabled people! The team is responsible for welcoming, integrating and accommodating people with disabilities.
